The Jal Mahal is surrounded with the traditional boat makers that hail from Vrindavan and are trained to craft Rajput technique wooden boats. You can find the scented Chameli Bagh and the Aravalli hills lay on one side.  The palace also attracts a horde of migrating birds that add to the beauty of the place.

The Water palace is an architectural beauty that provides a pleasing view of the dam named Man Sagar and the Nahargarh hills also known as the dwelling place of tigers. The palace is constructed in red sandstone and is five storey building. The roof is in the shape of a rectangular umbrella and the ones situated on four corners of the palace are octagonal. The palace is at 4km north of Jaipur and falls on the main Amer Jaipur road. It is the usual practice of the visitors to combine their visit of Jal Mahal with Amer fort. Both the tourist points have a different air of majestic aura to them. You will only need around 30 minutes to explore the entire area and the rest of the time can be utilised taking pictures and enjoying the beauty that surrounds the palace. One can also enjoy shopping for souvenirs at the local market or the camel rides like we enjoyed, especially if you are with kids. They will love it.

The entry to the palace is sadly prohibited but the exquisiteness of its surroundings is just perfect.  The palace looks captivating in the evening when the structure is covered in lights immersed completely in the flood lights. You cannot stop yourself from taking numerous pictures and neither did I. We took a lot of pictures of every magnificent detail that my lenses could capture. The Jal Mahal Jaipur is the best gift you can give yourself and a beautiful start to your journey in Jaipur.
